Developments in Baby Land

Life with a 2 month old is one wild ride. You look away for a moment and you've missed some type of "first". This week Louise dazzled her parents with her first high kicks! The days of easy containment are surely dwindling. At night her covers are thrown sky high and she smiles and coos at the sounds and movements that occur when she launches those chubby gams into her dangling play mat playmates.

Additionally we think (actually fear) Lou may be an early teether! She's drooling and pulling on her ears and has begun stuffing her fists into her mouth or sucking on our shoulders. To help her out I developed a very rudimentary teething toy. You can see it hanging from her play mat. And yes, it is a burp cloth strung up with ribbon.

Holding a ring!

Lady Lou astounds us once again by sitting up in her tiny baby chair and grasping a wooden bracelet. Sure she's batted at toys and clenched mama's shirt but look at the authority with which she holds her ring!

April in Boston

We had a wonderful Passover and Easter with our Boston based families. So fun in fact that Louise and I stayed for a few extra days to enjoy more time with the Grandfolk and lovely Lila and her parents.

Off to Boston

Heading to Boston for Passover and Easter. I hear Bostonians wear Red Sox caps all the time, I'll bring mine along just so they don't mistake this New Yorker for a Yankees fan.

Naps!

What could be better than napping on a lazy Sunday in the family bed? Nothing.

Visitors, visiting, brunch

This kid keeps such a full dance card that it's hard for her parents to keep up. People dropping in, us bundling her up and dragging her around to restaurants and friend's houses. Thank goodness her mom has put away all those fancy high heeled shoes worn by childless young city folk and laced up her practical New Balance sneaks for the foreseeable future.

Here we see uncle Bill dropping in between work duties and a flight back to Boston last Thursday for a quick bite. Can you see the parental experience this "baby whisperer" exudes? 5 minutes in his arms and Louise was fast asleep. Also a delightful brunch at Cara and Wally 's place, dinner with the Stedman/Feierman clan and another brunch with Clint, Marilou and Liam who is just learning the wonders of swings at the playground.
