First Thanksgiving
As the pilgrims did so many years ago, Louise had a first Thanksgiving. Surrounded by her loving family she broke (or rather gnawed) on bread and enjoyed (at least visually) the bountiful flavors of the day. Her first pumpkin pie was a hit but everything else was a bit of a bust. She did however thoroughly enjoy that bread.

Nine Months
Louise is nine months old. We've exactly matched the time she spent in the womb and somehow miraculously she's become her own little human. She laughs, she hugs, she claps, she stands. As of this week she takes a few hesitant steps into our arms. Where is the freezing time machine when you need it? Maybe it's the chilly weather outside and the toasty warm, soup-on-the-stove feeling inside, but I've been feeling rather fortunate these days and completely nostalgic for the present.
Looking forward to the next nine months and all the years ahead with you, little one.

Back in Brooklyn Baby
We're so thankful to be back in our apartment after the horrible rat attack. Being on vacation with the wonderful grandparents and family in Boston was fun while it lasted but as you can tell from these photos, it's always good to get back home. Notice our very own hell-on-wheels ripping around the apartment behind her push mower.
Also, welcome back to Barbara and Michael who got in last night from nearly a month away in Turkey and Paris! You'll be amazed at how Louise has grown when you see her in a couple of weeks.

Home Again, Home Again
We're finally back in Brooklyn, safe and sound. There's a bit of clean
up to finish and some seriously ill plants but it's good to be back
home.

Halloween and Other Fall Fun Around Boston
Yes, we're still hiding out in Boston from the rat wars in Brooklyn. But who cares! The foliage is beautiful here, the family abundant, and the vermin-free lifestyle is something we could really get used to.
Cousin Lila's first birthday and her incredible costume party! Juliet and Ruby's naming celebration! Brunch with the Abelys! All in one weekend. Wouldn't life be great if Boston and New York were closer? I'm all for obliterating Connecticut from the map... but then I guess we'd miss all those charming towns: New Haven, Hartford, New London... or would we?
